No reservation required.  Of course, the quintessential “Shakespeare in the Vineyard” experience will feature top quality theater set against the backdrop of the wine country sunset while sipping Wente’s award-winning, hand-crafted wines. Gourmet food truck and outdoor wine bars onsite will open at 6pm on performance evenings.

NO OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED

» Check Out further info on Wente Vineyards Pre-Show Food and Wine Experience!

If you would like to enjoy your own home-prepared-pre-show picnic, we suggest picnicking at Bruno Canziani Park which is just 3 minutes from the Wente venue.

ENJOY OUTDOOR THEATER IN THE ROUND. The audience is seated around a hexagonal stage which has long “boardwalks” that thrust out into the spaces between the audience creating an intimate “in the round” theatrical experience! The stage is set on the large lawn area directly to the east of the tasting room. There will be chairs for the audience to sit in. The actors voices are amplified for an optimal audio experience. Please note that when purchasing tickets from the ticketing page, the seating map is laid out traditionally with North being at the top of the page, South at the bottom, West on the left and East on the right.

ATTIRE:  Casual. Dress in layers. Climate varies nightly. Blankets are rented and sold at the event if you need them.

CHILDREN: Recommended for children 7 and up. Ages 7 and up permitted with parents and parental discretion advised. No children in strollers or babes in arms allowed. We recommend acquainting children with appropriate theatre behavior before coming. If you have any specific questions about the suitability of a show for your child, please contact our office at (925) 443-BARD.

ACCESSIBILITY: There are DESIGNATED HANDICAP PARKING SPOTS AT THE WENTE VENUE. Please note that all seats are removable and therefore any seat on the end of the rows can accommodate a wheelchair. We have also reserved ACCESSIBLE SEATS in the front on the end and close to the paved sidewalk. Please call (925) 443-BARD to reserve the ACCESSIBLE seats. For our patrons who have hearing challenges we recommend that you book tickets in the BLUE SECTION. Though the BLUE SECTION does face the setting sun (which is only an issue for the first 5-15 minutes of the show) there is a wall right behind the section and the sound bounces off of the wall and makes for the best sound experience.
